Northern Neck Kayak welcomes you to a very special place. We have opened the Northern Neck to our guests with a variety of kayak adventures. Our trips cover a beautiful section of the Chesapeake Bay's western shore. From Reedville, to Kilmarnock, Whitestone, Irvington and Windmill Point we paddle along Dymer Creek, Indian Creek, Fleet's Bay, Carter's Creek and the Rappahannock River to name a few famous spots.

Our main area of operations and access points to the water are located near Irvington, VA, 1½ hours from Richmond, and 2 1/2 hours from Washington, D.C. We meet all clients at the put in locations we are launching from for that particular trip.We often lead trips directly from the Tides Inn Resort.

Our offerings: Our most common touring trip is a 3 hour tour. Our most common fishing trips are also 3 hours, leaving either at day break or in the evening. We have many places to paddle, and schedule touring trips to different locations regularly during our summer season.

If you would like to charter a kayak fishing trip, have a large group, would like a private or couples tour just give us a call to see what is available. We are laid back and like to talk to our paddlers.

Highlights of different trips include: long sandy beaches, marsh, waterfront mansions, islands, fossil hunting, oyster hatchery tour, night paddles, sunset paddles and paddling to a waterfront restaurant for dinner.

  • See our touring trips page for trip descriptions and slide shows!.
  • See our kayak fishing page for more information on that awesome sport! We are the lowest priced fishing charter around, but provide some of the best fishing action in what we deem is the most fun way to fish!

The kayaks we use are comfortable, safe and fun. We use sit on top kayaks. No kayaking experience is necessary! The kayaks are silent and unobtrusive to the wildlife allowing you to get closer to the wildlife than by any other means. These tours truly are the best way to experience the Northern Neck and what is most famous for, its coastline!

The Northern Neck, specifically Lancaster County, is a great place to visit, and a great place to stay. Not only is there great kayaking, but also golfing, fairs, food, history and resorts. While the real estate market may still be doing well here, it has yet to change the quiet pace of the community. With our small town charm still strong, blue crabs to eat, history, and a wine trail, there are few better places so close, yet so far away from the city life of Richmond and Washington. D.C. However, the area has evolved with the times and there is no where else in the Northern Neck which offers you the varied amenities that staying in the area of Kilmarnock, Irvington, and Whitestone does. The aforementioned area has surged recently, providing trendy restaurants and boutique stores to keep even the most die hard yuppy happy.

The opportunity to experience the waterfront, which is really what makes this area special is hard to do without a private and expensive boat. Kayaking adds another dimension to the experience of visiting here, all while staying deep in the heart of the Northern Neck, and putting our kayaks in the water only minutes away from the towns of Irvington, Whitestone, and Kilmarnock. No long drives from your hotel!
